Out of the Mist - Heavenly Seven - Sandhill Cranes
This large oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas was inpired from my study 'Look Both Ways'. I will be entering it into the Red Desert Audubon Art Show in 2025. The photograph used to paint this was provided by photographer Scott Copeland.
Sandhill Cranes mate for life and spend decades together. Courting cranes stretch their wings, bob their heads, bow and leap into the air doing their graceful and energtic dance. They feed together in fields as they were most likely doing when this photograph was taken.
