There is a love and a drive within me to make art and I can’t imagine my life without art. Painting and drawing are my preferred media. Wyoming flora and fauna are my favorite subjects in my paintings as they reflect the beautiful Wyoming around me. I especially enjoy painting birds. Their beauty and innocence inspire me to capture them on my canvas, from diminutive songbirds to larger birds and birds of prey.
Oil painting is my favorite, although I do some pastel painting as well. The ability to mix my own colors adds to the endless possibilities to push and pull color and value in my paintings. Some of the challenges and joys of my artwork come from all of the ideas in my mind that are waiting to emerge on the canvas. So stay tuned and see what I will be painting next.
My artwork brings me joy, satisfaction, and a sense of accomplishment. My hope is that my paintings will delight and bring pleasure to the viewer. For in painting what I love, my heart touches the canvas through my brush.
