Female Flicker Wing Molt Study

This painting for the UW Art of Hybridization of the female flicker demonstrates what happens during wing molt. In the bottom flicker, the wing feathers have wear, the middle wing the new wing feathers are growing in and the top bird shows the bird with its new primary and secondary wing feathers after molting.
